Beauty Buzz: Mascara

Mascara can either be spectacular or a disaster and the price does not seem to effect the quality.
For example, Chantecaille is sold at Neiman Marcus for the jaw dropping price of $70.  For mascara, people!  I recently received a sample in my monthly Birchbox and I it's so bad, it's silly.
For the longest time I had a love affair with Dior Show.  I happy forked over $25 a tube.  One day, walking around Sephora, I started to really notice how much everything cost.  Typically, I would run in and grab one or two items at a time.  On this trip, I was stocking up for a new season and replenishing some basics.  I was astonished at how much I was spending.  Surely, I could find some less expensive, and still effective products.
On the advice of my A-MAZING make-up artist, Beke Beau, I started using  L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara.  It's under $6 and makes my lashed dark, full, long and no clumps.  Exactly what I want in a mascara.
When it comes to mascara, do you spend or save?

I spent a lot of money on various primers, only to return to the cheap one I bought to test out whether I liked primers. lol I will spend more on lipstick and foundation, but almost everything else I happily buy in the drug store!

I will have to try the Loreal that you like. I have always come back to Great Lash by Maybelline or Rimmer makes a good one too. All under $10.

I tried Too Faced for $25 for a while, but in the end returned to Maybelline's Stilletto (not the super shiny one). I find it does all the lengthing, and volumizing I need. I'm in the market for a new tube so I'll try yours and compare. thanks for the tip!
